Wyclef Jean’s Yele Haiti Charity Shut Down After Improper Use of Funds

15 October, 2012 at 7:08 am

Wyclef Jean’s charity Yele Haiti was started after the horrible earthquakes that hit the island nation in 2004 after collecting over $16 million in donations from around the world. According to the New York Times, the money rarely made it to the hands of those in need because Wyclef and the staff of the charity spent most of the money on ridiculous expenses that had nothing to do with helping the people of Haiti.

Yele was founded in 2004 and the group spent $600,00 on the newly abandoned headquartes, $24,000 on a chauffeur for Clef, and a $100,000 payout to Jean himself to perform at a fundraising event in Monaco. One of the most surprising expenses was made when the charity spent $30,763 to fly Lindsay Lohan on a private jet from New Jersey to Chicago for an event that only raised $66,000.

The New York Times is reporting that half of the money Yele raised was spent on internal expenses, compared to Sean Penn’s, “J/P Haitian Relief Organization” only spent 10 percent of the money raised on the operations of the charity.

One orphanage director of Haiti, Diaoly Estime, told reporters, “If I had depended on Yéle, these kids would all be dead by now.”

This embarrasing development comes after Wyclef was shot last year while running for president of Haiti.

Snoop Dogg “Pocket Like It’s Hot” To Sell Hot Pockets In Hilarious Commercial [Video]

15 October, 2012 at 6:39 am

Snoop Dogg aka Snoop Lion signed a licensing agreement with Hot Pockets and adapted his 2004 hit “Drop It Like It’s Hot” to sell Hot Pocket. The new track is called “Pocket Like It’s Hot.”

Snoop collaborated with comedian/rapper DeStorm and Andy Milonakis and they rap about how amazing Hot Pockets are. Some funny lines from the commercial are from Snoop, “Home with kids in the crib Ma/Pocket like it’s hot/When the craving’s got a hold of you/Pocket like it’s hot/And your munchies get an attitude/Pocket like it’s hot/I’ve got the pockets in my arms/Setting off smoke alarms/And I eat ’em it while it’s hot/’Cause I got it goin’ on.”

Snoop released a statement about why he got involved saying, “HOT POCKETS are IRRESISTIBLY HOT™, and I thought this was a great digital campaign. HOT POCKETS have always been a favorite in my house, so this project was something that I felt I could really get behind. Plus, we had a great time coming up with the remix.”

The video was released Thursday and it already has almost 2 million view on Youtube.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were out in Miami when they bumped into Kim’s old boyfriend Reggie Bush and his pregnant girlfriend. After the awkward exchange, a camerawoman asked him if he had congratulated Reggie on the pregnancy, that’s when Kanye grabbed the woman’s camera.

That’s when Kim tried to intervine and the camera woman left.

After the ordeal the camera women told fellow photographers, “Kanye West just tried to beat me up.”
