Rick Ross Says Tour Cancelation Was Not Due To Death Threats

12 December, 2012 at 8:56 am

In a recent interview Rick Ross responded to rumors that the reason he cancelled his tour was due to death threats by a group called Gangster Disciples. Ross says the real reason why he cancelled the tour was because the promoter, Shawn Gee, canceled three of his shows without notifying him, as a result, the MC went ahead and cancelled the rest of the dates on his own. “i just felt like that was some power that I need to take away from homey, so I canceled the rest of the dates that I had arranged with him.”

Gangster Disciples released a youtube video where they demanded money from Ross for name dropping their chairman Larry Hoover on the chorus of his 2010 single “B.M.F. (Blowin’ Money Fast).”

The group is also upset that Ross used their six-pointed star gang symbol on the cover of his mixtape “The Black Bar Mitzvah.

Ross addressed the cancellation rumors and the group’s video by saying, “Once they began to unravel, I shut it down. Never was it due to any threats…Any dude can stand in a crowd with 30 or 40 dudes and everybody real, everybody trill, everybody ’bout that life, everybody gangsta. But when the choppers come out, everybody fold.”

“So if you screamin’, ‘Cut a check, we need a check.’ Ain’t no checks gettin’ cut. Ain’t never no checks gettin’ cut. I don’t play those games,” he responded. “I consider that extortion, we don’t play like that.”

Currently Chicago Police Department is investigating the threats by the Gangster Disciples against Rick Ross.

Rick Ross Cancels The Rest of His Tour Over Death Threats?

10 December, 2012 at 8:16 am

After canceling two shows in North Carolina last week, Rick Ross cancelled the rest of his tour. That is a total of seven shows, which were supposed to go on up to SUnday.

Rick’s camp says the rest of the shows were canceled due to, “An apparent lack of organization and communication on the part of the tour promoter.”

But there is speculation that Ross cancelled the show due to death threats by a group called Gangster Disciples. Who are asking for money because they say Ross disrespected their group in a song, and has been using their logo. Rick has not commented on the rumors

Below is the video released by the group demanding money from Ross.

Rick Ross told “Rolling Stone” the reason why he became a corrections officer, saying it was a way of “washing his hands” after a childhood friend was got a 10-years sentence for trafficking heroin and cocaine.  He says, “This was my best friend, who I ate peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwiches with, and pork and beans with, my buddy, my partner, my number one dude. Suddenly I’m talking to him over federal phone calls. Hearing the way it was building, I knew I couldn’t take nothing for granted.”

Ross added, “My homey’s father was a huge influence on my life, too . . . He was the one who was like, ‘Yo, go get a job somewhere, man. Go be a fireman. Or go be a fucking corrections officer. Just go sit down somewhere.”

He also talked about the seizures he had last year, “I’m most definitely an avid user, a pothead, however you want to look at it. I call it green caviar. It’s like a short vacation – it helps me chill out. And people really love it when I chill out, because I can really be a [Jerk].”
